This is education, not instruction
We write about how the dark web works, where it came from, who uses it, and what’s happening on it. Explaining a thing isn’t recommending it. Reporting that something exists isn’t telling you to go find it.
Think of it like a piece about how car theft works. Understanding the technique isn’t the same as being handed a slim jim, and nobody reading it is confused about whether the writer wants their car stolen.
Everything here is general information. It’s not advice, it’s not a tutorial, and it’s not permission.
The stuff we won’t do
Repeated on every page of this site, because it’s the point:
We don’t publish links. No onion addresses, no mirrors, no directories, no “working links.” Not for markets, not for forums, not for anything, not ever. Anything claiming to be us and handing out links is not us.
We’re not affiliated with anyone on the dark web. No markets, vendors, forums, services, or individuals. Nobody sponsors us, nobody pays for coverage, no affiliate deals, no referral money. When we write about something, it’s because it’s worth writing about.
We don’t sell or broker anything. Not a marketplace, not an escrow, not a middleman, not a guide service.
We don’t help with illegal activity. No buying guides, no fraud walkthroughs, no advice on avoiding law enforcement. However the question is phrased, the answer is no, and the email gets deleted.
Covering something and pointing you at it are two completely different things. We do the first one.
We’re not your lawyer, and we’re not your security consultant
Nothing here is legal advice, professional security advice for your situation, financial advice, or any other kind of professional advice. We’re writers and researchers.
Laws about anonymity tools, encryption, and online conduct are all over the place from one country to the next, and some of them change fast. Something that’s completely legal where we are could be a serious offence where you are. Tor is legal in most places. It isn’t everywhere. That’s the sort of thing you need to check for yourself, not take our word on.
If you’re thinking about acting on something you read here, talk to someone qualified where you live. If you don’t, that’s your decision and you’re carrying the risk.
We try hard on accuracy. We’re not infallible.
We read the court documents, the indictments, the academic papers, the security research. We say when something’s unconfirmed instead of promoting a rumour to a fact. When we get something wrong and find out, we correct it and say what changed.
But this subject moves fast, sources contradict each other, and a lot of the reporting out there is contested or straight-up made up. Articles reflect what we knew when we hit publish. We don’t promise everything on the site is accurate, complete, or still current, and an old article sitting online isn’t us insisting it’s true today.

What you do next is on you
We can’t control what people do with information, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise.
If you read something here and then go and do something stupid, dangerous, or illegal with it, that’s yours. Not ours. Understanding how something works and choosing to do it are two separate acts, and only one of them happened on this website.
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss, damage, legal trouble, or general life ruination arising from your use of this site or anything you read on it.

We link to normal websites. News outlets, court records, research papers, documentation, security vendors. Those aren’t ours. We don’t control them, we’re not responsible for what’s on them, and a link isn’t an endorsement of everything else on that site.
Some of them, ironically, track you far more aggressively than we do.
Nobody’s paying us
No sponsored posts. No paid placement. No affiliate links. No “partnerships” that quietly shape coverage.
If that ever changes, for instance if we run an ad or take on a sponsor, we’ll label it clearly and obviously, at the top of the piece, not in six point grey text at the bottom. And it will never be anyone with a foot in the dark web.
Where we mention a product, a tool, or a service, it’s because it’s relevant to the subject, not because someone bought a mention.
Names and trademarks
We write about companies, organisations, tools, and law enforcement agencies. Names, logos, and trademarks belong to whoever owns them, and we use them for identification and commentary. Mentioning an organisation doesn’t mean they endorse us, work with us, or have any idea we exist.

This site is written for adults. Under 16, please don’t. Between 16 and 18, read it alongside a parent, guardian, or teacher.
The line we hold
Everything on this site fits inside one rule: education, not access.
You can learn how a lock works without anyone handing you a set of picks. That’s the site. That’s the whole thing.
